A new study found that the most common erectile dysfunction drugs for men — Cialis and Levitra — were significantly less effective than Viagra in treating erectile dysfunction.
The study was conducted by researchers at New York University and New York University School of Medicine, in part because the researchers wanted to understand how Cialis and Levitra affected men’s sexual performance — and what potential side effects may they might have. The researchers also asked about the drug’s impact on other health problems, including sexual dysfunction, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and Alzheimer’s disease. “We think Cialis has a good safety profile,” said lead author Dr. Steven Nissen, an associate professor of urology at New York University School of Medicine. “It may be more effective than Viagra and Levitra because it has a shorter duration of action, which could make it less effective.”
